This miniature cushion or pillow is the right size for a dollhouse in 1:12 scale but it can also be adapted as a needle holder for a friend who sews. The doll's house cushion can be made from a scrap of needlework, petit point,embroidery or cross stitch, or a piece of needlework can be created which measures 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 inches (3 - 4 cm).
If you will be using a scrap of worn needlework or a cross stitch miniature, check that you can trim a piece which will make a 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 inch (3-4 cm) cushion with an edge of 1/4 inch (.5cm) as a selvage. This is an excellent way to use small pieces of needlework, petit point, or cross stitch to make a needle holding pillow for a friend who sews.
