Finished Miniature Rambling Rose in Petitepoint

This miniature petite point uses seven basic colors to create the pattern on a cream background. These rambling roses have been worked with soft pinks. You can create a different effect by using paler pinks, cream or yellow shades. The colors given on the chart produce the pattern shown when worked on 32 count Lugana fabric.

To work the pattern as a needlepoint (petitepoint) project suitable for doll's house scales it is recommended that you use double strand embroidery floss over 32 count Lugana, or single strand floss over 40 count silk gauze.

If the project is worked against a dark background in needlepoint it will have a very Victorian feel. If worked in needlepoint the background can be filled in with soft green, or grey blue, or left the color of the fabric it was worked on as is shown here.
