This miniature cross stitch uses four basic colors to create the pattern on a cream background. Foxgloves are normally colored white, apricot, or purple. The colors given on the chart produce the pattern shown when worked on 32 count Lugana fabric.

To work the pattern as a needlepoint (petitpoint) project suitable for doll's house scales it is recommended that you use single strand embroidery floss over 40 count silk gauze.

If the project is worked against a dark background in needlepoint it will have a very Victorian feel. For a Georgian, Federal or Modern look, work the background in a pale blue, pink or cream, depending on the colors you choose for the flowers.
