Sculpt a Miniature Doll's Torso

Check the Back and Side View of the Torso for Proportion

The back view of a doll's torso shows the shoulders and shoulder blades.

Examine the back of the doll's torso to create shoulder blades and to make sure the back does not become humped as you shape the front.

Before you cure the torso, check the back and side views to make sure the torso is correctly proportioned and that the shoulder line does not roll forward or backward. Watch that the doll has not developed a 'hump' in the back where you inadvertently pinched it as you shaped the front. Make sure that you have extended the shoulder line enough to work with the neckline you plan to use for the doll's dress. If necessary you can use polymer clay to sculpt the top portion of the arms as well.

Check the Armature Make sure the wire for the doll's arms is centered in the shoulder area in order to make the padding the armature easier.
