Blend the Clay to Finish the Torso

Shape the rough form of a chest across a wire armature on a doll's house doll.

Blend With Your Fingers Blend the shoulder lines carefully up into the line of the neck. When you have the shoulder lines correct and the side view of the doll is in balance, mark the collar bone and the slight depression at the base of the doll's neck. Check that there is the slight line of a shoulder bone on the back of the torso. If the doll has breasts, make sure they are even in size and lined up squarely on the body. The line of the breast should be most noticeable on the lower side of the breast towards the shoulder. The breast line should be at the two head mark down from the top of the doll's head.

Do the Final Blend With a Brush

Use a square or rounded watercolor brush to do the final blending on the uncured clay.
