Lay your fabric over the padded side of the board, and set the ribbons in place roughly on top of the fabric. Use your drawing to line them up. Thread your needle and take the needle up through one of the center holes you made on the board, taking the needle through the fabric and the centres of two crossing ribbons.

Make a tiny stitch across the ribbon and take the needle back down through the same hole, pulling the fabric and ribbons down slightly into the backing. Take the needle and thread over to another hole on the board and do the same thing, making sure the ribbons on the front of your board stay straight and on track for your pattern.

Stitch through all the holes catching the ribbons at all crossing points.
