Some colors overwhelm a scene. Where you have miniatures with strong shapes and colors, like the stove in this scene, you need to pay careful attention to balance. Painting the chairs black has helped to balance this scene. The lead lines in the dresser windows, and the black details on the dresser help, as do the tiny black diamonds on the floor. Limiting the fabric details to just the one red checked fabric really helps to pull your eye around the scene and gives the entire thing a nice extra balance of color.
