When the glue has dried, check the fit of the box and sand the edges if necessary. Check that the central divider and the small divider sections meet the edges of the box at the same height or slightly below the box sides and edges. Sand or file these carefully if they do not fit.
Finish sand the box with fine sandpaper, and touch up or paint any sections that need to be painted. Apply the outer coverings of paper patterns to the outer sections of the box if you are using them to cover a box made from illustration board (mount card).
When the box is finish sanded, apply an acrylic coating to protect the finish. Sand this down after it has dried, using fine sandpaper (120 grit or finer). If you wish to use this as a horse groomer's box, apply a nameplate to the box as shown, and apply a final coat of protective finish.
