Guide Review - More Village Display Tips Book Review

More Village Display Tips, by Leigh Gieringer, is a well illustrated compilation of details of many different themed collectible villages. The book shows and discusses all sizes of collections, and makes suggestions for how to mix various collectible collections together into a pleasing unit. A number of styles of layouts are shown, from collections that fit on a mantle, or surround a fireplace, to units that run along walls, or stack up in room corners. There are good suggestions for backgrounds, and special terrain details (mountains and water are some). Most of the common collectible sets are discussed and illustrated, from North Pole villages, to Dickens and city skylines.

The suggestions and techniques range from building your own mountains, to which materials will easily simulate water, without a lot of effort. This is a good book for a novice or enthusiast, as it showcases several ways to achieve similar results, regardless of the size or scope of your collection.

The main emphasis of the book is on how to showcase your particular collection, and how to adapt pieces to make your collection stand out.
