To Make Scale Miniature Christmas Crackers You Will Need:

  • Sections of a wooden skewer or dowel or round toothpicks for smaller scales. For full size crackers use a cardboard tube of similar size to a toilet paper roll.
  • Decorative paper or ribbon Thin foil papers, cellophane candy wrappers, colored tissue paper, crepe paper, organza ribbons, or small scale decorative papers are all suitable. Crepe paper and thin tissue are the easiest to work with as you begin. For full scale crackers use decorative paper, crepe paper or colored tissues.
  • Curling ribbon to tie off the cracker ends, choose a color which coordinates with your paper or ribbon.
  • PVA (white) glue
  • Sharp Scissors
  • Ruler
  • Bent Nose Tweezers
  • Optional small stickers or bits of decorated tape, decorative ribbons or paper trims.

For Full Scale Crackers

  • Printed Verses, Jokes or Riddles
  • Toys or Favors that will fit in your chosen tube.
  • Paper Hats you can make these from tissue or thin gift wrap
  • Cracker Popper Strips available from craft shops or online.
