To finish the curved edges of the miniature Christmas stocking, carefully fold the gauze or canvas edge in under the finished needlepoint top, hemming the stocking top and back together as you go with small stitches. Most of the outside curves should easily fit between the two stocking layers. If you have trouble with the inside curve where the front of the foot meets the ankle of the stocking, cut a clip in towards the tight curve, ending the clip just before the finished needlepoint. This should make it easier to fold the gauze or canvas under as you stitch the front and back layers together.
