For the Tenth Day of Christmas, another technique, Emboss Recycled Plastic For "Etched Glass" Miniatures. This is a technique you can use for "frosted glass" windows, doors and serving dishes in several scales. The materials are easy to come by, although you'll have to do a bit of experimenting to find what works best for you.
I developed this technique as a result of a request for etched glass doors for the miniature kitchen cabinets. You can use the embossed plastic you produce to make elegant plates for the top of cake stands, or other miniatures as well. I used Black Country Dolls' House Stencils for the fine designs I produced, but other metal stencils from scrapbooking suppliers will work as well.
