Use these free tutorials and plans to make your own doll and dolls house furniture. This is a great way to help a child learn some basic woodwork over the summer holidays. The techniques are the same regardless of which size doll you have. You just need to adjust the sizes to fit your doll scale.
Consider what you build your 'apprentice' pieces in the world of cabinetwork. Although the plans for chairs, tables, armoires, beds, bookcases and other pieces shown here are easy to build with craftwood and hand tools in dollhouse scales, as you gain experience you'll be able to work towards making more challenging pieces adapted from full scale plans.
In the process, the following basic woodworking tools will come in handy. I've added a basic project for each tool to help beginners learn how to use the tool while they make a miniature project. You can also use the project instructions to see if you think you should add that particular tool to your beginners toolbox.
