If you want to add some extra interest to your model horse stable, or add to a friend's collection, you can collect family groups of model horses, consisting of a stallion, mare and foal. The Breyer company produces several model horse family groups in "traditional" scale and there are some artists's resins of foals, stallions and mares which can be combined as well.
If you intend to show your horses, make sure you pay attention to pedigrees for Breyer model horses! You want to be sure you have the right breed of mare and stallion, in the right colors, to sire your chosen foals.
