Many miniature needlework projects involve simply using finer needles and threads. If you are a knitter, Start Knitting in Miniature Scales and amaze friends with tiny projects. There is a great book on Miniature Crochet Projects in 1:12 Scale which will help you crochet dolls house scale clothing and linens. These Miniature Needlework and Cross Stitch patterns and information on needles, special fabrics and threads for smaller scale work will help you try reduced sizes in needlepoint or cross stitch.

If you have never sewn a toy by hand, try your hand at the ones below. The hippopotamus is an easy first toy for a child to sew, and you can make her a simple dress as well.
