Modern Minimalism for the Dolls House

If modern themed scale miniatures are your passion, you may want to check out some of these blogs and online suppliers. There are two streams to modern dollhouse design, one which could be called art/modern, and the other current/modern. Art/modern features high end modern styling of both houses and furniture and is usually beautifully minimalist, while current/modern focusses on daily living, products and items found in a today's regular homes and neighbourhoods. The majority of 1:12 scale suppliers of modern furniture and accessories are in the U.K., while a lot of modern reproductions in 1:6 scale are being produced mainly for Asia. If you have favorite blogs you follow for modern miniatures, please add them to the comments below.

    Hi Lesley,
Thanks again for drawing attention to modern miniature design. There was an article in the New York Times last week that discussed collectors and artisans. It was wonderful exposure for this growing phenomenon of modern minis. The article is here: http://www.nytimes.com/2010/04/08/garden/08mod.html?src=me&ref=general. Cheers!
