The book Knitted Gardens by Jan Messent is a classic resource for anyone looking for ways to make quick scale knitting projects with a garden theme. Their size and range makes the projects ideal for a club. You can each make a small section and combine them for a great raffle project or item for a bazaar, and as a group, you can collect a wide range of leftover yarns to make a unique art piece.
These projects use regular double knitting yarns and size 7 (US) or 4mm needles so they aren't miniature knitting as such. They are suitable for toys, as unique additions to a dolls house, or collectible pieces for a friend's garden room. Instructions are given for everything from dolls, to greenhouses, animals, plant pots and cottages, as well as pillows and throws. I'm off to start rummaging through my leftovers to see what I should start to knit first!
