Where's Your Workspace?

Saturday July 11, 2009

On beautiful summer mornings, I dream of having a light filled studio in my garden. The reality is that while small projects fit on a dedicated craft desk in my basement, larger projects seem to take over the entire house. That's the downside of investing in moveable craft drawers! Where do you do your best miniature work?

I use my dining room/every thing table. It’s an old danish modern table w/ sides that pull out. It’s perfect for all sorts of projects. I buy the cheap $1 throw away table cloths for painting and put cloth or vinyl on for dining. On it I sew, draw, paint, scrapbook, school projects (my daughter is 11), everything. Today I potted some plants cause it was 101 degrees outside. What a mess! Luckily there is linoleum underneath.

I am just starting to collect doll stuff and have tons of miniture barbie stuff (ok i’ts my daughters). I have always loved minitures. There is a great miniture museum in Los Angeles that I got to visit a long time ago. Now I want to take my daughter.
