Make a Dolls House Child's Bed From Wooden Stir Sticks

Saturday January 3, 2009

This is the type of miniature project that is great on several levels. This 1:12 scale child's bed uses recycled materials (wooden stir sticks) which have little or no cost. It gives you a lot of design freedom, and it teaches you a few good basic techniques. Build it for the practice!

You don't need to make the entire bed. You can make picket gates for a miniature garden scene, or model horse show jumps using the same technique. Although you can make the project from stock wood, making it from stir sticks has a certain thrifty appeal. It also amazes your friends. Get them to save you stir sticks. For your own peace of mind, it is a great start to a budget concious year!
