Dolls House Nederland Magazine

Wednesday October 15, 2008

International magazines often have specialized projects for their region. This is certainly true of Dolls House Nederland. This small format magazine is packed full of projects related to the dolls house hobby in Holland and Belgium. Dolls houses have a long history in Holland, and the magazine combines historical and modern influences, so there are lots of projects of interest to everyone. Anyone working on a project involving a Dutch house or theme will find good projects in current or back issues. The projects are easy to follow and the website has copies of the magazines printables in 1:12 and 1:10 scale.

International magazines reflect the customs, holidays, dress and food of their region. I like to watch for them on vacations, or search out back issues online, as they give me a chance to explore different styles and make pieces that will remind me of my vacation when I place them in a future vignette. With the projects in most of these magazines, language is not as much of a problem as you might think, especially with clear photos and access to online dictionaries.
