Battery Powered LED Light Strings to Light Tiny Scenes
A new form of LED rice lights with potential for lighting small miniatures scenes are beginning to show up online and in craft shops. These bright little cylindrical lights give off very little heat, and the bulbs can be changed out, allowing color combinations to be created for a particular effect.
One unfortunate downside to most of these lights right now, is that all of them are clear when unlit. You have to check the packaging very carefully to determine what colors of lights you are buying. Their small size, and the lack of heat, means you can use them to light small paper ornaments, card houses, tiny villages, and other spaces where hot lights would be a problem. The sets do have more wires than old fashioned Christmas lights, so choose the wire color you can hide best. The sets are available powered by batteries or as plug ins for indoors or out. The low electrical consumption means the battery powered lights are ideal for a section of a miniature village display or an outdoor Christmas wreath that you have trouble getting regular power to.
