Review of Little Felted Animals

Tuesday August 26, 2008

I love the adorable needle felt animals in this book, tiny enough to fit into a child's hand. The miniature raccoons I made people for their Christmas trees last year were a huge hit, and this book has lots of scope for adding to a collection of Christmas ornaments. I can't decide whether to go for polar bears, black bears, foxes, or seal pups this Christmas, and those are only a quarter of the great projects in this well thought out book.

Little Felted Animals, along with a few selected colors of raw wool, felting needles and a foam pad, will be going as kits to a few young friends as well. This would be a great fall activity for a careful young crafter, as long as they are old enough to avoid injuring themselves with the sharp, jagged, felting needles. As shown the animals are two to three inches long, but if you want, you can modify the instructions to make them in scale sizes, just find out what length a fox or a sheep should be and scale it to suit.
