Getting the Head Right For Miniature Dolls

Thursday April 17, 2008

Thank heavens for standards, they make life much easier when building to scale! Standard proportions apply to miniature dolls the same way they do to drawings or sculptures of people, they just have to be made smaller. It helps when you have a guide to the overall head size so you can work out what size head your 3 1/2 inch doll would need. Diagrams that show facial feature placement make sculpting faces easier, and figure proportions give you a start to work out the size of a doll. Even if you are making a doll from pipe cleaners and a bead, these proportions will help keep it in shape.
