Custom Upholster Your Miniature Furniture

Wednesday April 9, 2008

I like making things match and I seldom find all the items I want in the same range of furniture. Last week I told you how you could change the paint finish on commercial miniatures, now I've posted instructions on how to create custom upholstery.

As you can see from the photo, I've used a bit of paint to turn a mahogany finish chair and a white painted shop counter, into matching antique finished pieces for the interior of a shop. Now I've added how to upholster or change the upholstery on a chair, and you can see that I've used one of the Edwardian Green Printable Designs to match the chair upholstery to the shop bags and boxes. Printing your own fabric is a great way to get coordinates exactly how you want them! These are printed with EQ Printables cotton lawn sheets for ink jet printers and the fabric is just right for miniature upholstery projects. No excuses for mismatched accessories now. Have fun ! (and post photos of what you're up to with all the printables in the forum for all to share.)
