Summer projects should be fun and this Father's Day I plan to get some good photos of my friends and work on a few gentle caricatures based on the local Father's Day car show. I don't need them for a dollhouse, although some of them may end up there, I'll probably be making them in smaller scales to fit into die cast cars for the car club, and some may end up in a friend's railway station. I may try one for a model horse project as it's tough to find good riders!. I intend to use them for presents and awards, and a few just to capture the moment. As a resource I'm planning on using Maureen Carlson's excellent book, Family and Friends in Polymer Clay.
I'm not expecting miracles, it will take a while to get the expressions and poses right, but by the end of the summer I hope I'll have a few miniatures that will capture another moment and make a group of non miniaturists smile. (Plus I'll have a few original Christmas presents ready for wrapping and lots of not exactly as pictured faces to use in other projects!)
